A reminder email is a short, plain-text message you write to a group of members about one course. Each person gets a button that takes them straight to their own next lesson. Use it to chase prework before a workshop, to get stragglers to finish, or to collect the last survey answers. Reminders are never sent automatically. You write each one and press Send.

Where to send from

A list

Open a list in People and click Email people at the top. Works from both the People and the Brief view.

The cohort brief

The Remind buttons in the brief’s Readiness section open the same email already set to the right people, such as those who haven’t started or haven’t answered a survey. See Cohort brief.

People you pick

Tick rows on the All members roster (any quick view works, such as Stalled 14d+) and click Email on the bulk bar.

Write and send a reminder

1

Pick the course

If the group has more than one course, choose which one the reminder is about. The button in the email points into this course.
2

Choose who gets it

Under Who, pick a filter:
  • Everyone
  • Hasn’t started the course
  • Hasn’t finished the course
  • Hasn’t answered a survey, then pick the survey. This option appears when the course has a published survey.
The count underneath updates as you choose (“12 people will get this.”), and tells you when this group was last reminded.
3

Edit the message

The Subject and Message start with a draft that fits the filter you chose. Edit them in your own words. The message is plain text.
4

Send a test

Send test to me sends the email as written to your own address, with “[Test]” in front of the subject. Its button opens the course page. A test doesn’t count toward the limits below.
5

Send

Click Send to N people. The emails go out in the background, so you can close the dialog right away.

What members receive

The email comes from your academy, with your academy name as the sender and your sending domain if you have connected one. It carries your message and a Continue button for the course. The button opens each person’s own next lesson: the first one they haven’t completed and can open. Lessons locked by drip scheduling or a required check or survey are skipped. If nothing is left to open, the button goes to the course page.

Who is skipped

  • Members who turned off reminder emails. The Reminders and nudges switch in their email settings covers these reminders. Fayne never turns it back on for them.
  • Anyone who isn’t a current member. People who were invited but haven’t joined, removed members, and you and your admins are left out. To chase an invitation, resend it from the Invited view instead.
  • People who already match the filter’s goal. For example, someone who has answered the survey doesn’t get the “hasn’t answered” reminder.

Limits

If you hit a limit, the dialog tells you and you can try again the next day.
