Customize groups its settings into two sections: Branding (identity, domain, colors, thumbnails, lessons, certificate) and Pages (course catalog, home page).
What you can configure
Academy name and tagline
The name students see in the header and throughout your academy, plus a short tagline shown beneath it.
Logo and logo size
Upload a separate logo for light mode and dark mode, and set how tall your logo renders in the sidebar and header.
Brand color and theme
Your brand color drives buttons, links, and highlights. The appearance theme sets whether your whole academy runs in light or dark mode.
Favicon and social image
Set a favicon for the browser tab and a social sharing image for when your academy link is shared.
Set up your identity
1
Open Customize
In your owner dashboard, click Customize in the left sidebar. The panel opens on its menu, grouped into Branding and Pages sections.
2
Open Identity
Under Branding, click Identity. This is where your name, logo, tagline, favicon, and social image live.
3
Set your academy name and tagline
Enter your academy name. Add a short tagline in the Tagline field: it appears beneath your headline. Keep it to one line.
4
Upload your logo
Click the logo upload area and select your image. To show a different logo in dark mode (for example, a white version), upload it in the Dark mode logo field. (You can set a dark-mode logo once a main logo exists.)
5
Set your logo size
Once a logo is uploaded, a Logo size slider appears. Drag it to set how tall your logo renders in the sidebar and header (width adjusts automatically). Click Reset to return to the default size.
6
Add a favicon and social image
Upload a square Favicon for browser tabs and the sidebar, and a Social share image shown when your academy link is shared.
Set your color and theme
Open Colors under the Branding section.1
Choose your brand color
Pick from the quick color row, or open the color picker to enter any color. Your brand color drives buttons, links, and highlights across your academy, in both light and dark mode. The change previews immediately.
2
Choose your appearance
Under Appearance, pick how your whole academy renders:
- Light: your academy always runs in light mode.
- Dark: your academy always runs in dark mode.
- System: each student’s academy follows their own device setting.
Your brand color applies in both light and dark mode. The difference between modes is your logo: upload a separate dark-mode logo so it always reads clearly against the background.
Set your subdomain
Your academy’sfayneos.com subdomain is set under Settings > Domain. Choose a subdomain made of lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. This subdomain powers your student landing page, your course detail pages, and your authentication screens.
To connect a fully custom domain, see the Custom Domain guide. Once a custom domain is verified, students reach your academy there and the subdomain stays as a fallback.
Your academy URL
Your academy is accessible at a subdomain in the format:Your home page
The Pages section of Customize is where your visitor-facing pages live. Click Home page to open the full-screen builder for your academy’s landing page (the page visitors see first). See the Home Page guide for the full walkthrough. Also under Pages, the Course catalog panel lets you choose your catalog layout (full width or floating).Email sender identity
Transactional emails from your academy are sent under your academy’s own sender name, not Fayne’s. This covers emails like invitations, signup confirmation, sign-in codes, course access notifications, and academy access changes. Your sender name is configured in your academy’s email settings.Until you verify a custom sending domain, emails still use your academy’s sender name but go out from a shared Fayne sending domain. The from-name your students see is always yours.
White-label
On a paid plan, no Fayne branding appears in the student experience. Your students see your name in the header, your color throughout the UI, your logo on every screen, and your sender name in their inbox.Do light and dark mode use different colors?
Do light and dark mode use different colors?
Your brand color is applied in both modes. The difference between modes is your logo: you can upload a separate light-mode and dark-mode version so the logo always reads clearly against the background.

What does the appearance theme change?
It sets whether your whole academy renders in light mode, dark mode, or follows each student’s device setting (System). It is academy-wide, not a per-student toggle.

Yes. Changes take effect immediately. Students who reload the page see the updated branding. There is no re-publishing step for these settings. (Your home page is the exception: it has its own Publish button.)
