Fayne uses Stripe Connect to handle payments. When a student buys from you, the money goes directly into your Stripe account. You connect your own Stripe account once, decide what to sell, and start accepting payments. Fayne charges a small platform fee per sale depending on your plan (see Platform fees below).

Connect your Stripe account

Before you can accept payments, you need to connect a Stripe account. In your owner dashboard, go to Settings > Payments and click Connect Stripe. You are redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection to your existing Stripe account. Once you approve, you are returned to your dashboard and your account is linked.
Connecting Stripe requires a paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Scale); trial academies cannot connect Stripe. You need a connected Stripe account to sell, so if everything in your academy is free, you can skip the Stripe connection.

What you can sell

Selling in Fayne is built on Offers. The simplest offer is a price on a single course; bundles and the Academy Pass build on the same primitive.

Free courses

Set a course to free and everyone in your academy can start it, with no payment step and no Stripe connection required. Good for lead magnets, client value-adds, or an introductory course that leads into your paid ones.

Paid courses

Give a course a one-time price between $1 and $999. Students pay once through Stripe Checkout and keep access permanently.

Bundles

Sell several courses as one product with its own name, cover, and shareable product page. Charge once or monthly. See Offers.

Academy Pass

One offer that unlocks every course in your academy, including ones you publish later. Sell it as a one-time purchase or a subscription.
You set a course’s access (free, paid, or members-only) in that course’s settings, or for all courses at once from Sell → Course pricing. See Pricing Models for how the three settings behave.
Course pricing controls what a course costs. Who can join your academy in the first place is a separate setting: in Settings, your academy access model is either Open (anyone can sign up) or Invite only (students join by invitation). The two combine freely, so an invite-only academy can still sell to its invited members. See Managing students for invitations.

How checkout works for students

When a student buys, they go through Stripe Checkout, a payment page hosted by Stripe. After payment, they land on a celebration screen that lists exactly what they unlocked, and everything the purchase covers is available immediately.

Stripe Checkout

Stripe’s hosted checkout handles card validation, 3D Secure, and international payments. You do not need to build or maintain a payment form.

Direct to your account

Charges are made directly on your connected Stripe account, so payouts and customer records live in your own Stripe dashboard.
On an academy with open signup, buyers can purchase without creating an account first. They pay, then Fayne creates their account from the email Stripe collected and sends a sign-in link; one click and their access is ready. Invite-only academies keep buyers on the sign-in flow, since access there is tied to their invitation.
For a bundle or the Academy Pass sold as a subscription, the student is billed on the interval you set (monthly or yearly) and manages the subscription from Purchases in their account area, where they can cancel or resume. Canceling stops billing but keeps their access until the end of the paid period.

Platform fees

Payments go directly to your Stripe account, and Fayne takes an application fee on each paid sale based on your plan: Stripe’s own processing fees apply separately and are set by Stripe. Your Stripe dashboard is the source of truth for gross sales, fees, and payouts.

Revenue and reporting

Your owner dashboard shows your revenue in two places: Sell → Transactions is the ledger (every purchase, refund, and dispute, with gross, fees, and net, refunds you can issue in place, plus CSV export, filterable to a single offer), and Insights shows revenue trends and a per-course breakdown for the period you select. Each offer’s hub also has an Overview tab with that offer’s own revenue and, for subscriptions, its active-subscriber and past-due counts. For full transaction history, disputes, and payout schedules, open your Stripe dashboard.
Yes. Update it in the course’s settings or the Sell → Course pricing table at any time. Students who have already purchased keep their access; a price change only affects new purchases. For a subscription offer, existing subscribers keep paying their original price until they cancel.
Yes. Payments go directly to your Stripe account, and Fayne deducts an application fee per sale: 5% on Starter, 3% on Pro, and 0% on Scale. Stripe’s processing fees are separate.
Yes. Set the course back to free in its settings. New students start it without paying. Existing purchasers are unaffected.
