If your work already happens in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Teams, you probably have some Copilot already. The question is which one, and what it can read.
Microsoft uses one name for three products: a free app on a personal account, Copilot Chat included with business plans, and a paid licence that reads your mail, meetings and files. It is easy to try the wrong one on the wrong job, get a fluent answer about a file it never saw, and decide Copilot does not work.
This course starts with that sorting: the label under your name, what each label opens, and how to hand Copilot the material it needs. Then it runs four office jobs end to end: triaging a morning inbox and replying in Outlook, drafting and rewriting in Word from your own files, recapping a Teams meeting, and turning a report into a deck in PowerPoint. It finishes on the part a small business cannot skip: the green shield, what Microsoft does and does not do with your prompts, and why Copilot surfaces files that were shared too widely. Every plan, price, label and button was checked against Microsoft's own pages in October 2026.
You practise along the way: explaining to a partner why Copilot "knew nothing", aiming five vague asks, a client review that runs from the meeting to the board deck, and three jobs on your own work this week.
Who it's for
Small-business owners on Microsoft 365: paying for the apps already and unsure whether the Copilot licence is worth adding.
Team members in Outlook and Teams all day: want the inbox, meeting and document jobs done faster with the account they already have.
Anyone handling client material: needs a clear line between the work account and the personal app before the first paste.
