The accounting software you already pay for can now file most of your bank lines, read your receipts and chase late payers by itself. What it cannot do is notice when it is confidently wrong.
QuickBooks and Xero both learn from the categories you chose before and act only when they are confident. That works well on rent and flour, and it fails quietly on the mixer bought from the flour supplier, the transfer to your own account and the receipt saved twice. Owners who switch it on and stop looking find those mistakes at year-end, copied a dozen times, on their accountant's invoice.
This course sets the AI up properly, on clean history and one account at a time, then builds the review habit that keeps it honest: a ten-minute Friday check aimed at the lines most likely to be wrong, and a half-hour month-end where the books have to agree with the bank. It also marks the decisions that stay with you, and the signs that it is time to pay a bookkeeper or ask your accountant. Every plan, feature name and setting was checked against Intuit's and Xero's own pages in October 2026. Nothing here is tax advice, and the rules differ by country.
You walk away with the AI running on your busiest account, a few tight bank rules, a weekly check and a month-end routine you can finish in half an hour.
Who it's for
Owners who do their own books: you reconcile in the evenings and want the software to take the typing.
Owners who switched the AI on and stopped looking: you want to know what to check before your accountant finds it.
Small teams with one person on the books: you need a routine someone else could pick up.
