# Managing Your Students: Roster, Progress, and Access

> View your student roster, track per-course progress, invite new students by email, manage enrollments, and remove access, all from one place.

The **People** page in your owner dashboard gives you a complete picture of everyone learning in your academy. You can see who has joined, what they can access, how far they have progressed across every course, invite new students by email, and remove access when needed. Each academy you run has its own independent roster, so students in one of your academies are never mixed with students in another.

## The People hub

People is one hub with a rail of views on the left, the same layout as the Sell area:

* **All members**: the full roster (the label uses your academy's audience word).
* **Invited**: pending invitations, with resend and revoke actions and a search by email.
* **Lists**: each List you have built, as a view of the people on it.
* **Segments**: each saved Segment, as a live view of who matches it.

All members has the full roster table described below. A List shows its own table of the people on it, and a Segment shows its rules with a live preview of who matches. Lists and Segments are created from the **+** next to their heading in the rail. See [Audiences](/docs/students/audiences) for how they work.

## The roster table

Each row shows:

* **Name**: the student's display name, with the email address they signed up with underneath.
* **Access**: what they hold, shown as a chip: **Pass** for Academy Pass holders, an offer count, or **Purchased**.
* **Courses**: a progress bar with their average completion, and "X of Y finished" underneath.
* **Last active**: when they last completed a lesson, or **Never**.
* **Joined**: the date they first accepted an invitation or created an account in your academy.

Click any column header to sort. The default order is newest joined first. Search by name or email with the field above the table. Your search, view, sort, and page size stay in the URL, so a filtered roster can be bookmarked or shared with an admin.

### Quick views

The view menu at the top left of the table narrows the roster to the people who need attention. Each option shows how many people match it:

| Quick view | Who it shows |
| - | - |
| **Everyone** | The whole roster. |
| **Stalled 14d+** | Started something but nothing completed in two weeks. |
| **Never started** | Joined, no lesson completed yet. |
| **Completed everything** | Finished every course they can open. |
| **No offer yet** | Hold no offer, so nothing to renew or upsell from. |
| **Joined this month** | Your newest members. |

### Select, act in bulk, export

Tick rows (or **Select everyone on this page**) and a bulk bar appears with **Add to list** and **Grant offer**, so a stalled group can be dropped onto a re-engagement List or comped an offer in one move. **Export** (next to the search field) downloads the current view as a CSV file with name, email, join date, access, courses enrolled and completed, average completion, and last active date.

<Note>
  Each academy has its own student roster. If you run multiple academies from one account, switching academies in the top bar switches to that academy's separate roster and progress data.
</Note>

## Viewing a student's detail

Click any row in the roster to open a student's detail panel. It loads that person's full record on open. The panel has several tabs.

**Overview** shows contact info, join date, and summary stats: courses started, courses completed, and overall progress percentage.

**Access** shows everything that lets this student open courses, and is where you change it:

* **Offers held**: the bundles or Academy Pass they hold, how they got each one (purchase, your grant, or a List that carries it), with a revoke action. Use **Grant offer** to hand them one.
* **Course access**: personal course grants from you, with **Grant course** to assign another and a revoke action on each. Revoking warns you if the course stays open through another path (a free course, a purchase, or a held offer).
* **Purchases**: their payment history, with a **Refund payment** action on each paid row. A full refund returns the money and ends whatever the purchase unlocked.

**Progress** lists every course the student has started, with completed lessons out of total lessons and a checkmark when a course is finished. From here you can also **reset progress** on a course so they can start over.

**Audiences** lets you add the student to or remove them from your Lists, and shows which auto-updating Segments they match, for your own segmentation.

**Answers** shows what they said to your [welcome questions](/docs/academy/welcome-questions), question by question. Answers to a question you have since removed are kept and marked **No longer asked**.

**Certificates** shows any completion certificates the student has earned, and lets you revoke or restore them.

**Danger Zone** contains the option to remove the student from the academy entirely. See the warning below before using it.

<Warning>
  Removing a student from your academy ends the course access you granted them and deletes their lesson progress, and cannot be undone. The student's account is not deleted, so they can still sign into other Fayne academies they belong to, but all their progress data in your academy is gone. (Certificates they already earned are not deleted by this action; revoke those separately from the Certificates tab if needed.)
</Warning>

## Inviting students

You invite students to your academy by sending them an invitation email. The invite links their address to your academy and, optionally, pre-enrolls them in courses you select.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the invite dialog">
    On the **People** page, click **Add member** (the button uses your academy's audience word, so it may read **Add client** or **Add student**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add email addresses">
    Type an address and press **Enter**, **comma**, or **Tab** to add it. Paste a comma-, space-, or newline-separated list to add multiple addresses at once. Each address appears as a chip you can remove before sending.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Grant access (optional)">
    Use the pickers to attach one or more **courses** (**Grant access**) or **offers** (**Grant offers**, a bundle or the Academy Pass) to the invitation, and **Add to list** to put them on one of your Lists. Whatever you attach unlocks for the student the moment they accept. You can leave this empty if you want them to access only what your academy already grants.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send invitations">
    Click **Send invitation** (or **Send N invitations** for bulk sends). Each recipient gets a branded email from your academy inviting them to join. Turn off **Send email invitation** to create the invitations without an email; the person gets access when they sign in with that address.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Pending invitations live in the **Invited** view, where you can **resend** one that got lost or **revoke** one sent by mistake.

<Tip>
  If a student's invitation email is already associated with an account, accepting the invite adds them to your academy without requiring them to create a new account.
</Tip>

## How students sign in

Students sign in with a **one-time code**. They enter their email, receive a 6-digit code, and type it in, with no password to set or remember. If you have turned on [welcome questions](/docs/academy/welcome-questions), a new member answers them right after their first sign-in.

You do not need to configure anything for sign-in to work. Every student uses the same passwordless flow.

## Multi-academy isolation

If you manage more than one academy, each one maintains a completely separate student list. A student who joins one of your academies is not automatically added to any other. Their progress, enrollments, and data stay within the specific academy they joined. Use the academy switcher in the top bar to move between your academies and their respective rosters.
