# Analytics: Track Course Performance and Revenue

> See enrollment counts, completion rates, per-course revenue, and revenue trends for your academy.

The analytics section of your owner dashboard, labeled **Insights**, gives you a picture of how your academy is performing: how many students have enrolled in each course, how many complete it, and how much revenue you have collected. Insights shows data for the academy you are currently viewing, so if you run multiple academies, use the academy switcher in the top bar to move between their data.

<Note>
  Insights is available on paid plans and during your trial. If your academy's plan lapses or is paused, the Insights dashboard is locked until you reactivate.
</Note>

## Filter the dashboard

Use the controls at the top of Insights to focus the whole dashboard:

* Choose the last **7**, **30**, or **90 days**.
* Show **All courses** or select one course.
* Choose one or more **Lists** or **Segments** from People.
* For several audiences, choose **Any** to include students in at least one or **All** to include only students in every selected audience.

The key numbers, charts, revenue, and course table update together.

## What the key numbers show

The top cards show **Total Students**, **Active Students**, **Lessons Completed**, and **Average Completion Rate** for the selected period and filters. When a previous-period value is available, the card shows the change.

## Course-level analytics

The course view ranks the courses in your academy so you can see which are performing best.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Enrollment count" icon="users">
    The number of students enrolled in each course, including those still in progress and those who have completed it.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Completion rate" icon="circle-check">
    The share of enrolled students who have completed every lesson in the course. A low completion rate can indicate that a course is too long, poorly structured, or not matching expectations.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Average progress" icon="chart-bar">
    How far enrolled students have progressed through the course on average, so you can spot courses students start but do not finish.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Revenue per course" icon="book-open">
    For paid courses, the revenue attributed to each course over the period you select.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  Sort your courses by completion rate to find your strongest and weakest performers. Courses with high enrollment but low completion are the best candidates for a content review.
</Tip>

## Student-level progress

Click any student in the **People** page to open their detail panel, where the **Progress** tab shows progress specific to that individual:

* **Courses started, courses completed, and overall progress.**
* **Per-course progress:** completed lessons out of total lessons for each course they have started, with a checkmark when the course is finished.

<Info>
  Student progress is based on lesson completions. Fayne tracks which lessons a student has completed; it does not track lesson view counts or time spent.

## Revenue analytics

The revenue section gives you an at-a-glance view of your academy's financial performance for the period you select. Revenue appears once you have a connected Stripe account that can accept charges.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Gross sales and net" icon="circle-dollar-sign">
    Gross sales and your net after Fayne and Stripe fees, for the selected period.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Revenue over time" icon="chart-line">
    A chart of revenue across the selected period, so you can track growth and seasonal patterns.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Per-course breakdown" icon="book-open">
    Revenue attributed to each course, so you can see what is driving sales and where to focus.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Refunds" icon="rotate-left">
    Refunds are tracked and deducted from your net revenue figures.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

For the per-transaction ledger with every purchase, refund, and dispute (including CSV export), open **Sell → Transactions**. For full transaction history, individual customer details, and payout schedules, open your Stripe dashboard from **Settings → Payments**.

<Warning>
  Revenue figures reflect payments processed through Stripe and already net out refunds. For the complete record, including disputes and payouts, check your Stripe dashboard.
</Warning>

## Activity feed

Insights summarizes performance. For a chronological stream of individual events, open **Activity** in the owner sidebar. It shows joins, course starts, lesson and course completions, purchases, refunds, certificates, and offer grants. See [Activity](/docs/engagement/activity).

## Team access

Your academy has one primary owner and can have additional admins on Scale. Admins can work with content, students, and Insights, but owner-only settings such as billing and team management stay with the primary owner.
