# Use your owner dashboard

> Ask your academy questions, watch how it is doing, and finish setup from Home.

Open **Home** in the owner sidebar to ask your academy a question, see how it is doing, or pick up the next setup step.

## Ask your academy

Home opens with a question box. Ask how your academy is doing, or describe a course you want to build, and Fayne Agent answers right there on Home. Suggestions under the box get you started: **Who's stuck?**, **What's working?** (or **Why are completions down?** when they dropped), and **What should I build next?**.

The agent answers from your academy's real activity:

* **How things are trending**: new and active students, lessons completed, courses started and finished, for any period against the one before, in total and per course.
* **Where students struggle**: which courses people start and finish, where they drop off in a course, lessons that get skimmed, and how practice blocks are going.
* **Who has gone quiet**: students who started a course, haven't finished, still have access, and haven't been active for two weeks or more, by name, with the course and the last lesson they completed.

It reads signals, never what students wrote: no answers, explanations, or Learning Assistant chats. It doesn't edit lessons or message students, and you and your admins are never counted as students.

Ask for a course (or click **Create a course**) and your request, with any files you attached, goes straight to the course builder. See [AI course generation](/docs/content/ai-course-generation).

Each message to the agent costs 2 credits. Conversations are saved: **New chat** starts over, the recent chats menu reopens an earlier one, and Home picks up where you left off for up to 45 days.

## When your academy is new

Until your academy is set up, Home shows **Your academy**: the live academy your students will see, with **Preview as a member** (or **Open my academy** once it's live) and **Customize**. If Fayne is writing your first course from setup, its status appears here too ("Writing your first course · 3 of 8", then "First course ready").

**Your checklist** walks you through the essentials. The order adapts to what you told Fayne during setup:

* **Personalize a lesson**: open a course and make it yours with the AI editor
* **Add a course of your own**: browse the library or create a course from scratch
* **Customize your branding**: upload your logo and set your brand colors
* **See your academy live**: walk through it exactly as your students will
* **Invite your first student**: send an invite or share your academy link
* **Connect a custom domain**: use your own domain instead of the Fayne subdomain

The first row follows your first course: "Writing lesson 3 of 8. Lessons appear as they finish.", then "Ready · 8 lessons written". Click **Watch it being written** or **Open course** to look at it at any time; if the outline is waiting for you, the button reads **Review outline**.

The other courses Fayne planned for you during setup are not on Home. They wait on the **Courses** page as briefs. See [Courses in the works](/docs/academy/courses#courses-in-the-works).

## After you launch

Once setup is done, Home becomes your day-to-day overview, under the same question box.

## Invite from Home

While your academy is new, the **Invite your first student** step in the checklist opens the same invitation window used on **People**. You can enter several email addresses and optionally grant courses, offers, or Lists. Later, invite from **People**.
